Medieval Dinan

The origins of the name "Dinan" go back to the dawn of time. The name may have come from the contraction of the Celtic words "Dunos" and "Ahna". This would indicate that Dinan is the hill of the goddess Ahna, protector of the living and guardian of the dead, who was highly honoured all over Armorica.
